Godthrymm, the British quartet is made up of singer and guitarist Hamish Glencross (Vallenfyre, ex-My Dying Bride, ex-Solstice), guitarist Lee Netherwood (ex-Solstice), drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels (My Dying Bride, ex-anathema, Former Solstice) and bassist Rich Mumford (Malediction) together. A lot of competence and experience.
The quartet provides a cross-section of the expected spectrum of their work - from very slow to mid-tempo or from gloomy to progressive rock.
Even the opening title track knows how to please right away. Slowly and loftily, the song settles in Doom Metal and gives the good and roughened voice of Hamish Glencross enough space to unfold. The fact that Glencross has never appeared as a singer so far, therefore, wonders. Another quality feature of this song is the successful structure, as "A Grand Reclamation" after just under six minutes, the pace, with the transition to reminiscent of early My Dying Bride.
