Already the first announcements of an upcoming eleventh long player from Nocte Obducta caused excited activity on all imaginable scene platforms, the Germans are a kind of pioneer of a scene movement and polarized their followers not least due to their musical unpredictability and willingness to experiment.
With "Mogontiacum (nachdem die Nacht herabgesunken)" the long-awaited work is now ready and should also make many "old" fans of the sextet sit up and take notice. Not only did the band recently announce that they would again incorporate extremely metallic sounds, they even go so far as to call "Mogontiacum" a musical liberation after more than 10 years.
Conceptually, the album is based, among other things, on material that was planned as the successor to the extremely successful "Nektar" phase, but was lost in the confusion of the ensuing band history. On this album, Nocte Obducta combine the old trademarks, to which the band owes its special position, with the willingness to experiment in recent years and deliver an album that stands out from the mass of standard productions.
