The dutch death metal masters GOD DETHRONED from Drenthe return to the big death metal stage in 2003 with the next masterpiece "Into The Lungs Of Hell". GOD DETHRONED have never shut up their mouths when it came to expressing their opinion to religion and church. Nothing has changed about that on their now 5th studio album. They only broadened their horizons a bit on "Into The Lungs Of Hell". Bandleader, singer and guitarist Henri Sattler this time, purely lyrically speaking, takes the socially critical notch and denounces both terrorist attacks and the often mendaciousness of various religions. But also musically everything is more than average. Instead of igniting a sustained blast firework like on "Ravenous", the quartet takes things a little more calmly. There is still enough a good deal of ventilation in fast tracks, but overall the Dutch are now placing more emphasis on variety and so many individual flames flicker instead of a firestorm. The foursome relies less on the hectic Thrash elements of its predecessor, but blows brute mid-tempo hits with hooklines for eternity through the speakers. Fine melodies, which they seem to shake effortlessly out of your sleeves, send goose bumps down your back. The 8 songs are all hits, technically perfectly performed and of downright sublime sound quality. A fillet of the art of music making, harmonious and full of passion. Anyone who is still longingly waiting for a real successor to the album "False" by GOREFEST from our neighboring country will be in complete ecstasy in view of the class of "Into The Lungs Of Hell". Finally re-released on vinyl.
