On "morbid ascent" the quartet GRAVE rumbles uncompromisingly through the botany in the first two songs. Both "Venial Sin" and the title track are not only brand new, but also extremely strong. On "Venial Sin" GRAVE thump along in the best old-school Swedish tradition and peer into the Doom corner with both eyes, "Morbid Ascent" crashes through the hemisphere in a Death-Thrashy way and even lets clever ears listen to Black metal elements. It's no wonder that the SATYRICON classic "Possessed" is thrown into the robes of death and suffers anything but shipwreck. "Epos" has been subjected to a neat remix and with the newly recorded "Reality Of Life" GRAVE have even bagged a masterpiece of their work. The last time you could marvel at this beautiful song was in 1989 on the second demo "Sexual Mutilation" - congratulations to those who still have the tape at home! Just like GRAVE for this short, but all the finer summer soundtrack.
