The best ideas often arise spontaneously. The two Danes Morten "Sjaelepest" Lund (Ex-DEVIL & Ex-KAOS666) and Danny Woe (ALTAR OF OBLIVATION & Ex-WOEBEGONE OBSCURED) didn't think twice and founded FUNERAL CHASM in the year of the pandemic. As soon as the idea was born, song ideas were designed, collected and recorded. This resulted in the first EP "I" and the two singles "The Skeleton Secret" and "Mesmerizing Clarity". As is usual in Funeral Doom, themes of melancholy, tragedy and loss dominate the genre. "Omniversal Existence" is no exception. Almost fifty minutes of apocalyptic mood have been spread over seven tracks and offer the entire range of sadness. On this first full-fledged work, the influences of bands like FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, SISTERS OF MERCY, CELTIC FROST, THERGOTHON or VANGELIS can be heard. Thus, musical styles from different directions unite on "Mesmerizing Clarity". Lyrically, the duo explores insomnia, anxiety and depression as well as the problematic consequences of these diseases.
