"Promulgation of the Fall" is the second full-length studio album by the Greek death metal band Dead Congregation. What defines DEAD CONGREGATION has nothing to do with esoteric stuff and occult mummery. Rather, the Athenians rely on well-thought-out songwriting that leaves enough room for night-black meandering soundscapes, but never gets lost in them. Drummer Vagelis Voyiantzis' crazy performance keeps pushing the band forward. The string section is in no way inferior and delivers hellish riffs and apocalyptic leads non-stop. But that alone wouldn’t make “Promulgation Of The Fall” so special. How DEAD CONGREGATION manage to forge the individual parts into perfectly balanced songs that are freed from all unnecessary ballast and yet meticulously worked out is simply impressive.
